Where Is It?

Located between the north and southbound lanes of Anzac Parade in Malabar, near the Franklin Street turnoff, it can be accessed in both directions by parking along Anzac Road, and is recognisable for the memorial flanked by two cannons.

Things To Do

War Memorial & Cannons

Flanked by two cannons, this memorial commemorates soldiers who died fighting, and who were from the Malabar, Marboura and Matraville areas. The cannons that flank the memorial were originally part of the For Macquarie Armaments and were cast in 1843. There is also a couple of benches in the park for sitting and reflecting.

Who Was Bob Clarke?

Life member of Malabar RSL, Bob Clarke also served as president and treasurer of the RSL.

    Dogs should be kept clear of the memorial but are permitted in the reserve. Keep note that it’s between the north and south bound lanes of Anzac Parade and is probably not suitable or safe for high energy dogs.
