These two maps show the third leg of the route. Firstly, from Bronte Beach to Waverley Cemetery

…And then from Waverley Cemetery to Clovelly Beach.

From Bronte Beach the path heads south uphill along Bronte Road. It’s short but steep and you have two options. The road or the rocks.

The rocks are an easy climb but not for the faint of heart. The road is a shared road with paid parking. Keep an eye out for cars reverse parking.

Once you’ve negotiated this section you’ll be standing in tiny Calga Reserve with the grand Waverley Cemetery tumbling out in front.

Calga Reserve is a good spot to fill up your water bottle and let the dog have a little sniff about before continuing on.

A word of warning. The gang walk around the cemetery is metal grill and some dogs might have trouble with it. Be prepared if your pooch is the cautious type.

Waverley Cemetery Waverley

Waverley Cemetery is breaktaking. Walkers are welcome to head off the track and wander around the old graves to see the resting places of people gone by. There’s a few famous faces buried here as well. Check the Waverley Cemetery Page for more details.

When you’re ready, head on to Burrows Park. As you pass Clovelly Bowling club and wave hi to some of the bowlers, see if you can spy the little path between the club and the playing field. It leads to a nice lookout where walkers can grab some photos and have a quick break. Clovelly Beach is just down the slope.

Thanks to some naturally occurring reefs Clovelley Beach is more like a giant ocean pool then a beach. It’s also the perfect place to take a swim.
