Things To Do

Wander The Fred Hollows Reserve Walk

Staring at the Alison Road entrance and continuing through the park to the northern entrance at Bligh Place, the ID about 500 meters each way and takes about 15 minutes to walk up and back, taking in natural flora and wildlife.

It’s a fairly easy walk in picturesque surrounds with plenty of spots along the way to stop for a picnic. There are steep steps on occassion, but thsts thr only real hurdle to enjoying this short walk. If you’re looking for more walks in the Eastern Suburbs check out the link below:

Discover Unique Flowers

The vegetation in Fred Hollows Park is one of the few places left where local flora is allowed to grow in natural circumstances. Flora include maidenhair and gristle fern, coachwood, lillypilly, scentess rosewood, callicoma, muttonwood, Sydney peppermint, corkwood and five-leaved water vine. Preserve this area and don’t take any of the flora.

Discover local birds and wildlife that call Fred Hollows Reserve home. Birds include rainbow lorikeets, kookaburras, pied currawong, magpie, sulphur-crested cockatoo, magpie. You might also find lizards like the glebe gully skinks and different species of frogs. Oh… And there’s spiders as well! Obviously, don’t feed the animals and leave them to exist in their own space.
