A friendly community park nestled at the back of Glebe not far from Wentworth Park. M J Doherty Reserve has a playground, bbq, tables and benches, a chess board and some interesting artwork scattered about the park.

It’s suitable for a picnic lunch, reading a book, or small children’s parties.

The park is on the corner of Mitchell Street and Wentworth Street in Glebe, only a few blocks from Wentworth Park.

There is limited street side parking on Wentworth Street. You may have to hunt around for a good spot in the back streets of Glebe

 Things To Do

Small BBQ and Picnic Area

There is a single BBQ with adjacent tables and benches. These are not shaded, but there are trees around the playground and outskirts of the park

Shaded Playground

There is a small playground with a swing set and wooden balance beams that is naturally shaded by large trees.

Fixed Chessboard

There is a chessboard attached to one of the tables, which is a nice little feature.



Are there toilets?

There are no toilets at the park.

Is there food nearby?

Glebe Point Road is a short walk from the park and there’s supermarkets,. cafes and restaurants. Also the fish markets are opposite Wentworth Park

What about rubbish bins?

There are rubbish bins in the park that are easy to spot.

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are allowed in the park but should be kept on the leash and clear of the BBQ

Can my child ride their bike or skateboard?

Bicycles, skateboards and roller-skates are all allowed on the paths. Keep clear of the BBQ.
