On a bright sunny day there’s nothing quite like getting the dog out for a bit a run around. Here’s a list of all the best off leash dog walking parks in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

 

Cooper Park Bellevue Hill

While Cooper Park might be better known for it’s picturesque cliffside trails and walks, Lower Cooper Park (near the cricket nets and Lough Playing Fields) is off leash dog friendly between 4:30pm and 8:30am every day. Dogs are allowed on leash through the Park as well.

While dogs must be on leash around the cricket oval and playground, the bushland trail that extends through most of the park is of leash dog friendly. There’s indicators along the footpath where on leash secrions begin and end. Pretty helpful!

Not a park but the sandy beach area is dog friendly. While the waters are considered not suitable for swimming due to pollution it’s definitely a good option for owners who want their dogs to be able to enjoy the sand.

Hayden Place Reserve within the the sprawling grounds of Sir Joseph Banks Park is an enclosed off leash dog area.


Duck Pond Centennial Parklands

Centennial Park has plenty of open expanse for dogs to get around. Just watch out for the big geese!


 

Baker Park

A picturesque park in Coogee that is off leash away from the playground and tennis courts.


 

Bangor Park

A sloping grassland park with a small, fenced playground and plenty of space for the dog to get around. Dog tidy bags and bins in the park as well.


 

Bardon Park

An expansive green space close to the bowling club that’s great for dog walking, with dog tidy bags on site.


Burrows Park

North of Clovelly Beach and not far from Waverley Cemetery Burrows Park features an outdoor gym and Clovelly Bowling club, and is off leash dog friendly. A great place to stop off after the Bondi To Coogee Walk.

Astrolabe Parks In Daceyville Sydney NSW

Steyne Park Double Bay Sydney

This is a popular Park with hockey and cricket facilities as well as sailboat rigging at the north end. As such dogs are only allowed off leash between the path and sea wall and on leash everywhere else.
