More than just a playground, you’ll find picnic areas, community murals and a basketball half court here, as well as a bit of space to walk to dog (on leash). Play equipment includes monkey bars, slide, challenge games and fort climb.

Hawthorne Canal Reserve

Popular off leash dog park along the canal with some Park seating and a café to grab a coffee while the dogs mingle. Richard Murden Reserve is on the other side of the canal.

Marr Reserve

Pioneers Memorial Park

Address: Norton Street, Leichhardt NSW 2040
Located in the heart of Leichhardt, Pioneer Memorial Park is an historic cemetery that now serves as a village green containing memorials, a playground, off and on leash dog walking zones. Public performances are often held around the memorial gazebo, occasionally at night. It’s also close to cafes and eateries on Norton Street.

Wangal Nura Park

Address: Corner of Flood and Myrtle Streets, Leichhardt NSW 2040 
Tidy recreational reserve with fenced playground, basketball half court, soccer goal and picnic tables. Dogs are allowed in the park on leash only. Play equipment includes balance set, slides and climbing frame, and there are sun shades and soft fall flooring for safe landings.

War Memorial Park

Expansive village green with a signature mature fig tree as a centrepiece, it’s a popular spot for a stroll, with space to kick a ball around. There’s also a playground and off leash dog area in the southern side of the park.
