Getting To Rockdale Bicentennial Park

Where Is It?

Rockdale Bicentennial Park is a large recreational reserve on West Botany Street and President Avenue in Kogarah / Rockdale. It is also accessible from Kings Road via footrack.

The 974 stops on President Avenue near the park, while the 478 and 479 stop on Bay Street, about a 5 minute walk to the top of Rockdale Bicentennial Park.

Bike Route

The Eve Street & Bestic Street Cycleways run to the north connecting the Cooks River Cycleway to the beach in Brighton-Le-Sands. From Bestic Street Cycleway join Francis Avenue and take The path access from the end of Kings Road.


The best Street address is the corner of Presidents Avenue and West Botany Street, Kogarah, NSW 2217


There is dedicated parking in the park off West Botany Street near Francis Street.

Things To Do

Grab Some Friends & Have A Barbecue

With plenty of undercover tables and benches and free barbecues Rockdale Bicentennial Park is the perfect spot for a social get together. Most of the facilities are located to the north end of the park, meaning you don’t have to travel far if you want to let the kids loose of on the playground or kick ball around in the open green spaces.

Make Use Of The Bicentennial Park Playground

Rockdale Bicentennial Park boasts a large playground that is fenced and partially shaded by trees. There’s plenty of activities including swings, slides, bridge and fort climb and there’s some soft fall flooring where it’s needed. You don’t have to travel far in St George to find a playground, but this is probably one of the best!

Grab Some Air At The Skatepark

Rockdale Skatepark is located near the playground and carpark close to West Botany Street and features open bowls, banks, hips transitions etc.

Get On Your Bike & Ride

Bike paths run through the park and it’s possible to connect south to Civic Avenue Reserve and Scarborough Park. Rockdale and surrounds have some great bike paths to explore including along Cook Park and the Bestic Street Cycleway as well.

Ilinden Sports Centre

The Ilinden Sports Centre hosts the Rockdale City Suns who compete in the NSW Premier League competition and hold strong traditions in the Australian Football landscape. The centre also hosts the St George Saints for some matches.

    There‚Äôs a full sized men’s and women’s toilet block at the park.

  • Can I take my dog?

    Dogs are welcome in the park but should remain on leash.

  • Can I lock my bike up?

    Get creative and you can find somewhere to chain your bike up.
