Scarborough Park is located south of Barton Street on the corner of Scarborough Lane in Kogarah. It is a vast parkland area that includes the Phil Austin Baseball Diamonds on Production Lane, Leo Smith Reserve on Hawthorne Street and Tonbridge Avenue and Rotary Park on Tonbridge Street. Part of Scarborough Reserve spills north of Barton Street near A S Tanner Reserve.

Go Fishing In The Wetlands

From the short pier near Barton Street and right along the interconnected ponds along the Wetlands Corridor, you’ll find plenty of secret spots to cast a line, many with fixed benches to sit on. Go deep enough and there’s even a bridge to cast off.

There’s a large sun shaded playground near the Barton Street end of the park featuring swings fort climbs and slides. You’ll also find more playgrounds at Leo Smith Reserve, Tonbridge Street Reserve, Rotary Park and at Pasadena Street.

Rolling out along the western end of the park are a number of sports fields used for soccer, rugby and cricket. There’s also a pair of practice nets close to the Barton Street playground as well. A number of clubs use the fields for competitive club matches on the weekends, but there’s always plenty of space available during the week for a casual kick around.

And Then There’s Baseball

South of the playing fields the Phil Austin Baseball Diamonds are home to the Arncliffe Scots Baseball Club, with over 100 years of history as a baseball club. If you’re interested in baseball, softball or junior t-ball you can find out more at their website below.

The Model Boat Facility is located close to Barton Street and is home to the St George Model Boat Club, who have been sailing together since 1986. They typically sail 10am to 2pm but you might catch them down there on other days of the week as well. Find out more at their website.
